National Consecration to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus on June 11

In honor of the 250th Anniversary of the founding of the United States of America, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) will consecrate the nation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus on June 11, 2026. Ordinariate members in the US are encouraged to prepare for and participate in this National Consecration by praying a novena to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus from June 3 to June 11, 2026 concluding with a Prayer of Consecration on the 11th or 12th, the eve and day of the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, respectively.

The USCCB has created a special novena prayer for the occasion which can be found on their website via the first link below.

Catechism & Coffee

Sunday, June 14

We are slowing down our Catechism and Coffee schedule for the summer to have class once a month rather than weekly. Join us this Sunday, June 14, to hear Michael Butler's story of his journey from Anglican priest to being received into the Catholic church on the Feast of Pentecost this year. We will have coffee and social time from about 9:20 to 9:35 and the session will last until about 10:35, with time for questions and answers.

Young Adult Bonfire and Evensong - Saturday, June 20, 6:30pm
Celebrate the Feast of St. Alban Martyr with Evening Prayer at St. Edmund's, followed by fireside food, drink, and fellowship.

For the women of the parish - there has been a proposal to begin a Seven Sisters Apostolate group at St. Edmund's.
The Seven Sisters Apostolate is a call to strengthen the Church by ensuring that a Holy Hour is prayed each day of the week for the sole intention of a specific priest or bishop—a “holy wasting” (cf. Mt. 26:10) or lavishing of prayer for his deeper conformity to Christ.
This generous commitment of one hour per week of prayer is asked for a period of one year, but can remain open-ended in time as each individual discerns her call to continue. A group may begin at any time of year. The normal commitment extends from June to June, the month of the Sacred Heart. Ideally, the commitment prayer itself would be made on the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
