A story of conversion
Linked below is an interview between Trent Horn of Catholic Answers and Dr. Stephen Boyce, a recent convert to Catholicism, who was confirmed along with his family by Fr. Johnson here at St. Edmund Campion Catholic Church just a little over two months ago.
As Christmastide draws to a close we look back on several joyous celebrations - the baptisms of three infants on the Solemnity of the Epiphany (photos next week), fellowship at Vino+Vespers, beautiful music at Lessons & Carols, and of course all our solemn Masses from the Christmas Vigils through Epiphany!
Vino+Vespers involved a lot of singing and dancing following a shared meal and the praying of Vespers!
The St. Edmund Campion Schola, accompanied by the Sacred Heart Academy Choristers led by Emily Brown and Leala Blakeley, put on a magnificent performance at our Lessons and Carols service on January 5. Recordings of a few of the songs are linked below, although nothing can compare with being there in person to hear them!

New Babies: Meals Needed
Our parish has welcomed five babies in the last two months.
Thank you to all who have been helping to provide meals for the families with new babies! If you would like to provide a meal for one of the families, please contact Donna Curry at dmcurry49@gmail.com or 423-280-4990. Meals can be dropped off and picked up at the church after Sunday Mass.
Snack Sunday after the 11am Mass
This Sunday is Snack Sunday - and after we snack, we will be un-decorating the church. Help is needed to take down the wreaths and Christmas trees and get everything packed away for next Christmas. Thank you for participating!

Organist Still Needed!
We were fortunate to have an organist home on college break for the Christmas season, but we are still in search of a part-time organist - someone proficient in sight-reading music and ideally familiar with Gregorian chant and plainchant, performing on a full-size Allen Digital Organ. The basic responsibilities are playing for the 11am Sunday Mass each week and could also include occasional Feasts, Holy Days of Obligation and possibly expanding to playing hymns at the 8:30am Mass. For the interim, we would also consider a trained pianist as we can temporarily use a keyboard with an organ setting. If you are interested, or can recommend someone to us, please contact the parish office at wncord@gmail.com or 828-393-5775 (ext 0). Thank you!
Prayer and Worship Resources - JAN UPDATE
We have five copies of The Divine Worship Study Missal available for purchase for $105; the Divine Worship Daily Office (Commonwealth edition) is also now back in stock at Catholic Truth Society. If there is interest, we can place an order for copies of the Commonwealth Daily Office; see below for information on a US edition of the Daily Office. Please contact the parish office (wncord@gmail.com or 828-393-5775 ext 0) if you are interested in either or both of these books. Overseas shipping is expensive, but overall the cost still comes out to less than ordering individually from other websites, and the more we order the less the shipping is per book.
We have replenished our supply of St. Gregory Prayer Books;
they are available for purchase for $25.
