Adoration and First Friday Mass

November 7

The Friday of All Souls Week (Friday, Nov 7) is also the First Friday in November. We will have Eucharistic Adoration from 4-5pm, followed by confessions from 5-5:30pm, and then our First Friday said Latin Mass at 5:30pm. Please consider coming to spend an hour with the Lord.

It's Snack Sunday!

Sunday, Nov 9, we will have snacks in the Parish Hall after the 11am Mass

Please bring a snack to share (cheese and cracker, veggies and dip, chips and salsa, cookies, etc.). We will provide coffee. Please be aware that we rely on your contributions to make our Sunday fellowship events possible - you don't need to bring much, but if everyone brings something to share we will have plenty. Thank you!

Home Campaign Update

We have already had $419K of $520K pledged for our Building Fund through the Home Campaign - thanks to the generosity of several parishioners, we are already 80% of the way to our 3 year pledge goal in the Home Campaign! We have a storage shed!

You will see a new addition behind the church this weekend. We now have a shed which will help us with storage of supplies and items not in constant use, as we have limited storage within the church building.

If you missed our Volunteer Fair on Sunday, Oct 26...

Don't worry, we'll still accept your offer to volunteer! Thank you to all who talked with us on Sunday about volunteer opportunities. If you weren't able to be at the Volunteer Fair, please know we are still looking for help in the following areas:

Assisting with Sunday Masses – 8:30 and 11am - greeting, ushering, setup
Supporting children’s ministries and youth activities
Singing in the 11am Mass Choir (different levels of skill and commitment are welcome) or Schola
Setup and cleanup for food after 11am Mass
Altar Guild - setup the altar for Mass, cleaning Altar Linens, etc.
Maintaining church grounds and facilities

Organist Needed!

We are in search of a part-time organist - someone proficient in sight-reading music and ideally familiar with Gregorian chant and plainchant, performing on a full-size Allen Digital Organ. The basic responsibilities are playing for the 11am Sunday Mass each week and could also include occasional Feasts, Holy Days of Obligation and possibly expanding to playing hymns at the 8:30am Mass. For the interim, we would also consider a trained pianist as we can temporarily use a keyboard with an organ setting. OCIA (Adult Faith Formation) is ongoing - you can join us any Sunday for class at 9:30am!

Our Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA) class is a catechesis/faith formation opportunity for all adults. Whether you are considering becoming Catholic, a recent (or not-so-recent) convert or revert, or a cradle Catholic, these classes will have something for you. Please come and join us at 9:30am on Sunday mornings (between Masses) - sign up button below. We will have coffee!

Prayer and Worship Resources

All copies of the Divine Worship Study Missal and Divine Worship Daily Office have been purchased. Currently, both the Study Missals and Divine Worship Daily Office (Commonwealth edition) are out of stock at Catholic Truth Society. We will be notified when they are available again and can place another order if there is interest. (For our first order, the Study Missal was $105 and Daily Office was $95; this could change on future orders due to purchasing from the UK and conversion rates and overseas shipping costs fluctuating.)

Catholic University of America is printing a US edition of the Daily Office which is available for pre-order on their website. The expected publishing date is Dec 12, 2025 and the cost is $55. Pre-orders can be placed using this link:

WNC Pro-Life Gathering in Arden, Tuesday November 18, 12pm:

Join us for a WNC pro-life gathering/meeting on Tuesday November 18 from 12:00pm to 1:30pm at St. Barnabas Parish in Arden (109 Crescent Hill Drive, Arden). The meeting will be held in the St. John XXIII Room. All are invited who have an interest in becoming more involved in pro-life efforts and learning of upcoming pro-life activities and issues. The gathering is hosted by the Carolina Pro-Life Action Network (C-PLAN) of Western NC, a coalition of parish pro-life volunteers across the area.
